Aimee Completes the Rock 'n' Roll Marathon
June 5, 2006. Anyone want to run 26 miles? Not very many can say they can. Except for Aimee, our Senior Healthcare Policy Analyst, who completed the Rock 'n' Roll Maraton on Sunday June 4, 2006. She participated in the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Team in Training program.
Aimee completed the 26.2 mile race in 4 hours, 56 minutes and 42 seconds. Her overall placement was 8468 and in the female category, she placed 3532.
This is what Aimee had to say: "I completed the marathon in honor of all individuals who are battling blood cancers. Our team hero, Spencer Wade, was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia in 1994 at the age of 2. He is currently being treated for a relapse. My personal hero is my cousin Keith White. Keith was recently diagnosed with acute lymphocytic leukemia. He is currently in 100% remission, and is on the list for a bone marrow transplant when a donor match is found."
All here at Yost Engineering are proud of her and her accomplishment. She plans on running more marathons, so we'll keep everyone posted!
